Product Description

Finbar Furey is a legend of Irish folk music. He is best known for being part of The Fureys, a band founded with his brothers that was highly influential in bringing traditional Irish music to the global stage.

Finbar is a multi-instrumentalist but is most famous for being a virtuoso on the Uilleann pipes. By his teens, Finbar had been awarded the ‘All Ireland’ medal three times for his musical talents, a feat that has not been achieved by any other piper.

“The Prince of Pipers” is Finbar Furey’s solo album, recorded in 1974. Available now for the first time on CD in Australia and New Zealand.
